So where does money actually go?
To the model provider you choose, if you choose a paid one. AgentTeams never sits between you and that bill — you connect your own Claude, Codex, OpenRouter or other account and pay them directly at their rates.
Can I run it entirely free?
Yes. The bundled free model needs no authentication, and local models through Ollama cost nothing but electricity. Plenty of people run the lead on a paid model and everything else locally.
How do I stop a runaway bill?
Set a monthly ceiling in tokens or currency. You get alerts at 80% and 100%, and scheduled runs hard-stop at the cap. Spend is broken down per team, agent, task and model so the expensive thing is obvious.
Will there be a paid tier later?
The app is open source and the coordination layer runs locally, so there is nothing to gate behind a subscription. If a hosted option ever appears it would be an addition, not a paywall around what exists now.
